Interior proposal Boekenbal 2010
The theme of the Boekenbal (Event for dutch writers) this year is 'growing up in literature', based on the book 'Titaantjes' from Nescio. This book is about a couple of youngsters who want to follow their dreams and react against society, but later on they have no choice but to give in to expectations of society. We searched for texts in the dutch literature in the same context; the idealism and rebellion of the youth (Harry Mulisch, Jan Wolkers, Jan Cremer, Nescio). We used the language of protest to give form to these texts and used different handwritings (using paint, marker, tape, papercuttings) to express the individual voices.
